Body of boy 'barely breathing' found inside suitcase in the boot of car at Dover
The body of a boy 'barely breathing' was found inside a suitcase in the boot of a car at the Port of Dover, it's emerged.
The boy, aged around 16, was said to have been found in a life-threatening condition by UK Border Force officials and rushed to hospital immediately.
Officers made the discovery at 8.30pm on Wednesday and charged a man with smuggling.
It's since been discovered that the boy - who is recovering - is Vietnamese.
Andrei Iancu, 20, from Bazau, Romania, has been charged with attempted to smuggle a person into the UK.
He remains in custody and will appear before Medway magistrates at a later date.
The boy's body was found in a suitcase in the boot of a silver Skoda Octavia.
The car was stopped at a search point where vehicles arriving in the UK from France are checked by Border officials.
Kent Police have since said that the boy's condition has improved.Source: Google News
