Heavy rain and strong winds to hit London and England's south east
Strong winds and heavy rain are expected to hit London and many areas of south east England early next week, weather experts have warned.
Londoners will be hit especially hard during Monday morning (April 30) which is also likely to affect commuters getting to work during rush hour.
Forecasts have prompted the Met Office to issue a âyellow warningâ as a result where power cuts could occur, trees might be damaged, and homes are at risk of flooding.
A Met Office spokesman said: âHeavy rain is likely to affect southeastern parts of England through Monday, peaking during the morning period.
âSpray and flooding is likely to result in difficult driving conditions and some road closures, as well as cancellations to train and bus services.
âIt may also be cold enough for a little sleet or wet snow on high ground but this is unli kely to settle.â
The Met Office increased the likelihood of disruption to âlowâ and the warning has been made a dual wind and rain warning.
It has also been limited to Monday for the time being, however some transport operators have urged people to check before they travel and take extra care.Source: Google News
