Counterterrorism police were investigating last night the âunexplained deathâ in London of a Russian exile who was close friends with a critic of President Putin.
The discovery of Nikolai Glushkovâs body was reported as the government opened an inquiry into alleged links between R ussia and 14 other deaths in the UK over the past two decades.
Theresa May told Moscow to explain how a nerve agent produced in Russia came to be used in an attempted assassination of a former Russian double-agent and his daughter in Salisbury.
