President Trumpâs decision to cancel his visit to London was for âpersonal reasonsâ after a series of perceived slights, British officials said last night.
Mr Trump had been expected to open the new American embassy in the capital but has scrapped the visit after clashing with the mayor of London and Theresa May.
A Whitehall source told The Times that the decision came after the president was left smarting over rows including a rebuke from the prime minister when he appeared to endorse a far-right group. âI donât think anyone believes this is an issue of policy or divergence between our countries,â the source said.
